Our
Story

During my senior spring semester, I had the opportunity to intern at the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Baltimore, MD. As a construction project engineering intern, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of project management and construction operations.

In this internship role, I was responsible for maintaining submittal and Request for Information (RFI) logs, documenting weekly progress and subcontractor meeting minutes, and conducting daily field observations and quality control inspections across multiple job sites. Additionally, I assisted with preconstruction activities such as bid request proposals, quantity take-offs, and drawing reviews.

Through this internship, I further developed my leadership skills by taking on responsibilities such as maintaining logs, conducting inspections, and assisting with preconstruction activities. These experiences have equipped me with the necessary leadership capabilities to excel in my role as the president of my sorority, Phi Sigma Rho.

As I aspire to become a construction project manager, the leadership skills acquired during my internship at Whiting-Turner are invaluable. Effective leadership is crucial in managing construction projects and leading teams to success.

The significance of this internship goes beyond just gaining professional experience. Not only did it offer me a full-time position upon graduation, but it also provided me with valuable networking opportunities and a deeper understanding of the construction industry. This experience has shaped my perspective and solidified my career aspirations in construction project management.
