CPD 408 GLOBAL LEADERSHIP

Our
Story

CPD 408, Global Leadership, was a course I enrolled in during my senior spring semester. This course aimed to explore the complexities of leadership within a globalized society and offered opportunities to apply leadership theories in practice. The curriculum focused on developing students as leaders who possess global perspectives, embrace cultural diversity, are proficient in technology, adept at forming partnerships, and capable of sharing leadership responsibilities. Additionally, students were tasked with evaluating their current mindset and leadership skills and devising a professional plan for further development as global leaders.
In this course, I participated as a student in discussions, quizzes, and a project. The project involved selecting a country from a provided list, conducting research on the chosen country, and preparing a PowerPoint presentation highlighting its culture and characteristics.

Through my participation in CPD 408, I honed my diversity awareness skills. The course provided a platform for understanding and appreciating cultural differences, essential attributes for effective leadership in today's interconnected world.

The focus on diversity in CPD 408 is highly relevant to my post-graduation goals. In an increasingly globalized and diverse professional landscape, understanding and navigating cultural differences is paramount. The diversity awareness skills acquired in this course are applicable across various industries and contexts.

This experience holds significance for me both personally and professionally. It broadened my perspective on leadership by emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity and global awareness. Additionally, the project component allowed me to delve deeper into the culture of a specific country, enhancing my understanding of cultural nuances and fostering a greater appreciation for diversity. Furthermore, the course facilitated networking opportunities with peers and instructors, fostering valuable connections that continue to enrich my professional journey.
